Our Mission
The mission of FAAS Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter is to shelter and care for Alameda's homeless and abandoned animals, find them new homes and prevent animal cruelty through education and community programs. Â 100 percent of all donations to FAAS help Alameda's animals.

Adoption Policy
Ready to adopt? Â Everyone in the household needs to come and meet the potential new pet. Â Take a walk, play with strings toys, let us tell you about the pet. Â Â If you rent, you will need to supply a copy of your lease stating you are allowed to have pets. If you own, you will need to supply proof of home ownership. Â Each animal has received it's first set of shots,(except rabies), de-wormer and flea treatment. Â All animals will be spayed or neutered and micro-chipped prior to going home. Â You will receive a free Health Exam Certificate to use at a local veterinarian.Â

We are located at the North end of Grand St at 1590 Fortmann Way. Â Regular shelter hours at Wednesdays 11 am to 7 pm, Thursday thru Sunday 11 am to 5 pm.
