Dawn's Story

Meet Dawn!

After spending years doing what so many mama cats do raising litter after litter, its finally Dawns turn to be cared for!

Dawn is approximately 5 years old and was rescued from a neglectful situation while pregnant with her sixth litter. She came into rescue alongside several of her adult children, leaving behind a life that asked far too much of her.

Despite everything she's been through, Dawn remains incredibly sweet, gentle, and loving. She has a calm, easygoing personality and enjoys affection, soft pets, and simply being near her people.

She's the kind of cat who brings a peaceful presence to a home. Dawn would likely thrive as the only pet where she can soak up all the love and attention she deserves. She may be open to sharing her home with another calm, cat-friendly feline with slow, proper introductions, but she appears fearful of dogs and would do best in a dog-free home.

This beautiful mama has spent years taking care of everyone else. Now she's looking for a family who will let her relax, be loved, and finally enjoy the carefree life she deserves.

If you're looking for a loyal companion with a gentle soul and a heart full of love, Dawn may be the perfect addition to your family.

If you are interested in meeting her, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org. Adoption fees are as follows: $175 for a single cat or kitten, $225 for a pair of cats or kittens.

When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo testing (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.

Animal House of South East Michigan, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment. Our adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten $195 for a pair of cats or kittens Please note that we do not do same day adoptions and all adoption fees are non-refundable. AHSEM treats every adoption as "foster to adopt" This means that the first two weeks in which you have the cat is the "foster period." We do our best to ensure the right match for all involved and want to give the cat(s) time to decompress and adapt to their new environment. However, we realize sometimes things don't work out as expected. Therefore, during that two-week period, if something doesn’t work out you can bring the cat back. We are also flexible if more time is needed to determine if its the right fit. We will always take our cats back even after the "foster to adopt" period. We would hate to see them end up at a kill shelter, abandoned, or any other unsafe situation.
