Davidson's Story
Davidson is a very sweet and affectionate adult cat! He was found as a stray in New York and taken to a shelter there. When he arrived at Journeys he was given the award for the most emaciated cat that we have ever seen! He was a mere 4 pounds and every single rib was protruding from his body. The shelter tried to remove many of the mats, but many were still left and couldn’t be removed until he was under anesthesia and being neutered. On top of that, he developed a substantial URI a couple days after arrival. Davidson is a trooper and fluids and force-feeding thankfully did wonders for him.

Davidson is one of the friendliest cats we have ever seen. He is extremely easy-going, is non-dominant, loves other cats, and just wants people attention. He’s what we call a “boomerang” cat. He just wants to be where you are, which makes it really difficult to get a good picture! Despite what his pictures look like, he is a very handsome cat. He is very petite in stature, will probably be about 8 pounds when fully grown. We are guessing he is quite possibly a Persian mix. His face is a little bit flatter than normal and he will be quite fluffy once his fur grows back!

Davidson’s age is a complete mystery. He was originally estimated to be between eight and 11 months of age, was later estimated to be a couple years old by another vet, and at the time of his neuter estimated to be between five and eight years old. One of these guesses could be correct or none of them could be, we unfortunately will never know.

A note about our adoption fees:
Journeys Cat Rescue is a very small rescue with just a few foster homes. We do not have a vet on staff (we are all volunteers!) and we tend to take on some pretty significant medical cases from shelters across the United States (limb amputations, full mouth extractions, FIP treatment, etc). If we are lucky enough to bring in healthy cats or kittens, they still need vaccinations, leukemia testing, and to be fixed. If you are able to provide an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, it is always appreciated!
Alternatively, consider helping to sponsor one of the cats in our care.
