Curly Fry's Story
On an afternoon in late April, one of our volunteers was on her usual walk home from work when she spotted a skinny, dirty cat curled up against a private house. His white fur was completely soiled, full of dirt and grime from the street, and his poor face had clear markings of an active upper respiratory infection.

We approached this strange looking, somewhat disheveled cat and even though it was our first time meeting him, he allowed us to approach. After meowing and allowing for a few pets, he quickly walked away and took cover under a car nearby. As he walked past us, we very quickly learned that he is an unfixed male!

Taking a closer look at the videos we took, it became clear that this cat was not a typical domestic shorthair, but rather a Cornish Rex mix. Wanting to learn more about his temperament and whether he could have been a former indoor cat now struggling to live outdoors, we set out to trap him a few days later. Almost immediately, we secured him and began assessment.

In just a few hours, he settled down in his crate and began purring, accepting as many pets and scratches he could get. It was clear he had been around people and in a home before. We named him Curly Fry!

Since being rescued, Curly Fry has fully recovered from his upper respiratory infection. His bloodwork is normal, he has been neutered, he is up to date on his FVRCP and rabies vaccines, he is FeLV/FIV negative, and he is microchipped! He felt so much better after getting a nice bath and all the care he needed to recover.

Curly Fry is a sweet, young boy (estimated to be 1 year old) in foster care now looking for an adoptive home. He would do best with people who can give him high levels of interaction and attention. He is very fond of spending time with humans, and loves play time! It is hard to take photos of him sitting still since the only time he will be still is when he is being carried or held.

Curly Fry has only temporarily been around other cats, and his momentary interactions with them have all been positive.

Please reach out and complete our adoption application if you'd like to learn more about adopting Curly Fry!
