Meet Coca

Coca (known affectionately in her foster home as "Ms. Coca Cabana, the hottest cat north of Havana") is a 13-year-old beauty looking for her forever home! A little shy at first, Coca wants nothing more than for you to pet her—all day, every day. Her growly little meow starts the moment she sees you in the morning, letting you know that she's thought of a lot to say overnight, and you're going to hear all about it!

Coca does well on her own. From what her foster family understands, she was a solo cat most of her life until her owner passed and then had to stay in a tough environment for some time. They think this old gal is enjoying the peace and quiet and usually find her in "her" room resting or coming to sit on their feet throughout the day. Once Coca's received enough pets, or you've put your hands away, she we happily cuddle in next to you.

Coca doesn't play with most cat toys, but she LOVES the laser pointer—if you want to see Coca move lightning fast, pull out that laser and let it rip! She also sometimes like to chase a ribbon wand. She adores being brushed and will readily jump into the brush with excitement the moment she sees it in your hand. Her other favorite hobby is "patting the air"—she'll stop what she's doing with a paw moving in the air, a thoughtful look on her face as she decides whether to take a step or lay down. She does this all the time, and it's very endearing. Other than these activities (and getting pet, of course), Coca is a pretty sedate lady.

Coca currently lives in a house with her foster mom and dad, as well as two chill resident cats that she is able to see through a baby gate. Based on her foster parents' interactions with her, the fact that she sometimes hisses and spits at the resident cats when she can see them, and her past in a chaotic environment, they think she'd do best as the queen of her own castle—no cats, dogs, or small children. When Coca came into Pet Haven, her foster parents were told she was spraying outside of the litterbox, but they have seen no evidence of that—they think that a clean box and a calm environment were all she needed for this behavior to subside.

Coca's ideal home will be clean, quiet, and with someone who would be happy to let her hang out nearby all day. Big bonus if you're okay with her joining you in bed—she loves to cozy up at night. Her foster family was told that she was very big into bed time and used to attempt to herd her previous owner at 10pm every night to go to bed.

Coca is actually a long-haired cat, but she came to Pet Haven so matted that she was in pain, so she currently has a buzzed coat. Now that she's had a haircut, she's grooming herself more frequently, but she'll need to have her coat brushed regularly as it grows longer. (This is great, because Coca LOVES being brushed, so you should have no trouble with this.)

Coca is going to be a wonderful companion to whoever is lucky enough to land her. She is sweet and sassy, and just wants to know that you're around so she can be around too. Her foster family can't wait for her to find her forever home!
