Chaney's Story
Some cats greet you at the door. Chaney isn't that cat, and that's okay. What Chaney is, is worth it.

Chaney is approximately 2 years old with a big, fluffy tail and Russian blue coloring. He is medium-to-long-haired and healthy; negative for FIV/FeLV, up to date on vaccines, neutered, and microchipped.

Rescued as a tiny, terrified kitten by Purrever Friends volunteers, Chaney spent the first years of his life learning that the world could be safe. And slowly, it was. He found a home. He found a best friend, a fellow cat who became his whole world. For two years, those two were inseparable, grooming each other, napping together, and simply existing in the quiet contentment that only cats who truly love each other know.

Then life changed. Through no fault of his own, Chaney lost his home, his companion, and every familiar thing he'd ever known, all at once. He's scared. He'll probably hide from you at first. He may take weeks or months before he inches closer. But here's what we know about Chaney: he is not mean. He is not feral. He is not aggressive. He is very, very scared. He is a cat who has loved deeply and lost everything, and he is waiting for someone patient enough to show him it can happen again.

What Chaney Needs:
A quiet home where he can decompress at his own pace
A feline companion. Chaney has shown he truly thrives with a cat friend
A patient adopter who understands that trust is earned, not immediate
A commitment. Chaney needs a forever home, not another temporary stop

What You Get in Return:
Cats like Chaney don't give their trust easily. But when they do, it is one of the most rewarding bonds you will ever experience. The slow blink from across the room. The first time he stays instead of running. The morning he's simply there, near you, because he chose to be.

Chaney cannot go back to the streets. He has only ever known the warmth of a home, and he deserves to keep knowing it. If you have patience, a resident cat, and a heart for a cat who needs time, Chaney is looking for you. Please give this big, beautiful boy a chance.

To apply for Chaney, please submit an application at https://form.jotform.com/240778209099165 or call 864-430-6335.
