Chance's Story

Meet Chance - A Survivor Who Still Believes in Love

For years, Chance was thought to be a stray. A kind woman faithfully fed her for nearly three years, making sure this sweet girl had food, water, and someone looking out for her.

But Chance had a secret.

She wasn't a stray at all. She had once been someone's beloved house cat-until a house fire changed everything. Chance escaped the flames and somehow survived on her own for the next five years, enduring the harsh Las Vegas weather and the dangers of life outside.

When she was finally brought to safety, it was clear that survival had taken its toll. Chance had painful dental disease and a severely matted coat that required a shave. And after everything she had endured, she faced another heartbreaking loss when the family caring for her could no longer provide for her.

Then Chance came to Homeward Bound.

And finally, her luck began to change.

Her painful dental disease has been treated, she's feeling so much better, and that unfortunate haircut is growing back. Most importantly, Chance has shown us that underneath all those years of hardship is a gentle, affectionate girl who absolutely loves her people.

Chance is a bit of an introvert, but give her a little time and she'll show you what a wonderful companion she can be. She loves laps, cuddles, gentle affection and chatting with her people in her adorable raspy little voice. She's litter box trained and happiest when she's cozy, comfortable and close to someone she trusts.

Five years of surviving didn't harden Chance's heart.

It made her appreciate the simple things: a soft bed, a full belly, a warm lap and someone to love.

Now she's looking for the person who will give her what she should have had all along-a safe, loving home where she can finally relax and enjoy being someone's cherished cat.

Chance has survived enough. Now she's ready to live.

Come meet this very special girl at Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions today!
