Chai's Story

Chai’s story starts on the streets of Germantown, where he made it very clear he was ready for a better life—by showing up daily and loudly requesting meals alongside a group of backyard feral cats. It didn’t take long to realize this wasn’t just any stray—Chai is as friendly as they come and practically chose his humans.

Now safely indoors, Chai has revealed his true personality: a total lovebug. His favorite place is curled up in a cozy bed near his people, soaking up warmth and companionship. He’s playful, affectionate, and has a soft spot for treats—offer him a Churu, and you’ll have a best friend for life. True to his expressive nature, Chai is also quite the chatterbox and won’t hesitate to let you know when it’s mealtime.

While Chai hasn’t had full introductions with other cats yet, he showed very positive interest through a gate and would likely do well with a slow, thoughtful introduction—especially since he’s so food motivated. He’s also dog-tolerant; though a bit cautious, he kept his distance and remained calm around a resident pup.

Chai is ready to leave his stray days behind and settle into a home where he can lounge, play, and be loved. If you’re looking for a sweet, vocal companion who will happily keep you company (and remind you when it’s dinner time), Chai might just be your perfect match.

DOB: 3/16/2023

Ready to make Chai part of your family forever? Fishtails Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
Fishtails Animal Rescue strives to provide you with a healthy pet. However, the stress of changing environments can lower an animal’s immunity to fight disease and the pet could harbor an infection without displaying symptoms. We cannot guarantee the health of any animal. Any pet adopted out by Fishtails Animal Rescue will be up-to-date on vaccines (unless medically contraindicated), microchipped, spayed/neutered (if age appropriate*), and given a dose of flea/heartworm preventative. The microchip must be registered by the adopter to their new information. *If the animal is not spayed/neutered at time of adoption, the adopter will do so within 2 months after the animal reaches 6 months of age. In addition, if pet is under 16 weeks at the time of adoption, adopter is responsible for boosters for vaccines. Fishtails Animal Rescues is located in Philadelphia, PA and accepts applications within the tri-state area. The first step in our adoption process is to complete the adoption application found on our website. Applications are reviewed within 72 hours of submissions. Please contact the rescue directly at info@farsaves.com with any questions.
