Meet Caprice

This cat has Feline Herpes virus. This is like having an intermittent cold throughout your life. She is contagious to other cats during flareups (caused by changes in the household or stressful events). Many cats have been exposed and are now immune. She will just need supportive care (cleaning eyes, nose, eye drops sometimes, antibiotics sometimes) during flareups only.
Caprice has decreased vision in both eyes and therefore must live inside only. Auburn University trimmed some of her 3rd eyelids that were scarred up, This may need to be done again in the future or possibly enucleate (remove) the eyes if more damage occurs.
