Canela, Fluffy Kitten Girl

Meet our adorable young girl named Canela! Canela is about 6 months old and she came to our shelter after her owner realized the home environment she was in was not safe for Canela. She is a very friendly and loving kitten who enjoys getting attention from everyone! Canela is a sweet girl who will make a family very happy! She is a clean cat who uses here litter box well. She likes to explore our cat room and play with toys. Canela is integrating with the other cats we have and she is slowly warming up to them. We think she will be fine in a home with another cat, especially a calm cat who isn't trying to jump on her and chase her around. She can go to a home with children 12 years old and older who have experience with cats and are gentle with them.<br/><br/>Canela's Special Needs: Canela came from a home where the young child there was hurting her. We don't think this was intentional, but it has caused Canela to have injuries a couple of times. The most recent involved Canela's right rear leg being broken where the head of her femur attaches to her pelvis. We are told that this can heal on its own over time. Canela can still walk and run fine, but she does have a slight limp. She is able to hop onto surfaces such as a couch without any issues. There is a short application for adoption, however if you do not own your home, or you own a condo, we must speak with your landlord or housing association giving permission to dogs/cats. Bully breed specific permission is required if you rent or own a condo. If you own your home, proof of home ownership is required. If there are other pets in the home they must be licensed (if a dog) and up to date on vaccinations. If there is another dog in the home a dog interaction must be done at the shelter before adoption, to ensure the safety and well being of all pets. All children in the home need to be declared and brought down to meet the animal.<br/>Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal.<br/><br/>An approved application does not guarantee an adoption.
