If you do, you know exactly why this handsome boy needed help. He was spotted wandering around traffic when a kind Good Samaritan stopped, scooped him up, and refused to leave him there.<br/><br/>There was just one little problem... there was no carrier!<br/><br/>So, this amazing person put Bubbles safely in the car, drove to the closest Target, purchased a carrier, and brought him straight to WARL.<br/><br/>When Bubbles arrived, he was tired and hungry. He had clearly been through a lot and desperately needed somewhere safe to rest. We got him some good food, fresh water, and a soft blanket, and Bubbles finally got the chance to settle in and sleep.<br/><br/>After his veterinary examination and neuter, we learned something important about Bubbles: he is FIV positive. And we want potential adopters to know something very important:<br/><br/>FIV is NOT a death sentence. FIV stands for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. Many FIV-positive cats go on to live long, happy, and completely normal lives. Being FIV+ does not mean a cat is sick, and it doesn't mean they can't have a wonderful quality of life. FIV primarily affects the immune system, so regular veterinary care, good nutrition, a safe indoor lifestyle, and watching for signs of illness are especially important.<br/><br/>FIV is also not something people or dogs can catch. Bubbles can absolutely share a home with a dog, and his FIV status does not put canine family members at risk.<br/><br/>For Bubbles, we are looking for a home where he can be the only cat or live with another FIV-positive cat. FIV is most commonly transmitted through deep bite wounds, which is why keeping him with other FIV-positive cats eliminates the concern of transmission to an FIV-negative cat. FIV is not easily spread through casual contact like sharing food bowls, grooming, or simply being around one another.<br/><br/>And honestly? Bubbles doesn't seem to care about any of that. He just cares about you.<br/><br/>This boy is incredibly friendly and has SO much love to give. He will happily cuddle up with his person and keep you company. Bubbles is the kind of cat who wants to be your buddy, your couch companion, and the guy waiting to greet you at the end of the day.<br/><br/>There are so many wonderful things about adopting an FIV-positive cat. You get the chance to give a deserving cat a safe, loving home that he may otherwise have a harder time finding. You can provide him with the stability, affection, and care he has been missing.
