Brindle’s story is a sad one, but one we, unfortunately. often see. Her owner passed away, and there were no relatives able to take her in. Strike one. She is also FIV positive. Strike two. But this condition does not mean that her lifespan will be shortened. Cats with FIV can live long, healthy lives. It does mean, however, that she should be the only cat in your home, as FIV can be passed from cat to cat by way of a puncture bite wound. (It cannot be passed to humans or any other species, such as dogs.)

Brindle, a beautiful tortoiseshell mix of black and tan coloring (the meaning of “Brindle”), has been through some very upsetting changes in a short period of time – losing her person, losing her home, and coming to a shelter full of other cats. But she has maintained her sweet and friendly disposition throughout all her ordeals. Now she deserves to live in a place where she can be cared for and loved for the rest of her life. Her two “strikes” should not take her “out” of your adoption considerations. She has one more “at bat,” and that’s all she needs to get a “home” run. Can that home be yours?
