Braeburn's Story

Update 7/1/26:
New Braeby Cuddlebug videos uploaded!

-----------------

Update 6/29/26:
I am absolutely delighted to report on Braeby's progress! The SPIN volunteers have truly helped Braeburn turn the corner from a semi-feral frightened kitty, to one who is willing to come out of his kitty condo all by himself and explore the SPIN home. In fact, this past weekend I was able to pick him up and bring him into the SPIN living room! This is after other SPIN volunteers had been coaching him all week (and the week before and the week before!) It takes a village! Now Braeby just needs the right family to call his own. You are going to need to be patient -- that scared, shy, terrified cat doesn't just go away overnight! But, Braeby is starting to display that he is a very affectionate, sweet, and a bit attention-starved young cat who just needs his person to scoop him up and bring him home. I'll try to get a new video up of how far he has come!

---------------------
---------------------

Do you have the knack? You know, the type of person who always hears "My pet never does that to other people...he must really like you!" And do you get a bit of warm fuzzies knowing that you are indeed that human all of the animals want to be near? If so, then Braeburn needs you!

Braeby, as I call him, is a semi-feral cat who was trapped from the outdoors. During his time in the SPIN home, he has been very shy. Well, the SPIN volunteers, all being self-declared cat whisperers, have made it our mission to draw him out of his shell. Using treats, affection, and yes, high pitched singsong strange vocalizations like "Braaaaaeeeebbbbbyyyyyy", we have gotten him used to liking pets and playing with wand toys. And, lo and behold! For the first time, Braeburn is now starting to venture out of his cage by himself! We have no doubt that with time (and snacks), Braeburn will turn into an extremely grateful, confident, and happy little cuddlebug. Are you that person who will beam with pride, knowing you were the one who finally made Braeburn feel safe and loved enough to become his true self? Visit Braeby at the SPIN home to see what I mean.

--------------

Stray Pets In Need (SPIN) has weekly open adoption hours where you can drop in and meet our cats at 5 Overbrook Terrace, Natick, MA Fridays 5-7pm and Saturdays/Sundays 3-6pm.

If you are thinking of adopting Braeburn or any other of the SPIN kitties, before you come by consider first filling out an application to speed up the process:
www.straypetsinneed.org/adoptions/adoption-application.

All of our available cats are listed at: www.straypetsinneed.org/adoptions/adoptable-pets.

We look forward to meeting you and your family!
