Meet Blackie
Blackie is a very sweet stray who showed up in her rescuers yard. She did test positive for FIV but it otherwise healthy. She loved belly rubs!
FIV virus weakens the immune system. As an indoor-only kitty, with an excellent diet, and a healthy and loving home environment, Blackie should be able to live a normal life. FIV is spread primarily through bite wounds and is not contagious through ordinary, friendly contact. FIV affects only cats and is not contagious to humans, dogs or other animals.
