Bilou

REVISED BIO - AUGUST 10, 2023 Meet Bilou! A volunteer favorite! Bilou with his silky and shiny coat of grey/silver, along with that cute all-black nose is stunning! Bilou was surrendered to our shelter, when the former owners realized that Bilou was unhappy living in a small apartment. He seems to require a lot of stimulation and becomes frustrated when he gets bored. Although we are generally motivated to place our cats into indoor-only homes, we feel Bilou will do best in a home where he has access to the outdoors.
Bilou is a confident, calm, gentle, friendly, adorable, lovable, social, easy-going, good-natured, and a laid back young cat. Although Bilou lived amongst the colony, he was a bit of a toughie, especially with the other male cats in the colony. He can be a little dominant, so something to keep in mind if you have other cats. Bilou would be happiest as your only pet.
Bilou is a confident cat who knows what he wants and appreciates affection on his own terms. He does seek out the volunteers for some attenton and affection. He especially enjoys being pet around the head and cheek areas. However, he does not appreciate being pet near his lower back. Bilou also enjoys being brushed around the head and cheek areas to his mid-back.
When Bilou is ready for a nap, we will often find him burrowing under a blanket or in his favorite basket.
Still a young guy at 2 years old with his whole life ahead of him, Bilou's ideal adopter will be cat savvy and enjoy the company of a cat who is a little more independent. If you can be the one to provide Bilou with the lifestyle he needs to thrive, one that includes access to the outdoors, lots of cat toys and games, a cat tree to climb and plenty of room to explore, we'd love to hear from you.
If you are interested in adopting Bilou, please give our cat adoption coordinator, Linda Peacock, a call at 819-868-2684 or email at: peacocklinda@rocketmail.com
Please note that visits to the shelter are by appointment only.
