Bill Nye's Story

Bill Nye is a curious, independent one-year-old with a personality as unique as his name. He's not the kind of cat who will immediately curl up in your lap-but that just means he likes to do things on his own terms. In a calm, patient home, Bill Nye will take his time getting comfortable, quietly observing his surroundings and the people in them.

Once he feels safe, his softer side starts to shine. He'll approach for gentle affection, enjoy being near you, and show his appreciation in subtle, meaningful ways. Building trust with Bill Nye is a rewarding experience-he's the kind of companion who forms a deep bond over time.

Bill Nye is looking for an adopter who understands that love doesn't always happen instantly, but grows with patience and care. If you're willing to give him the space and time he needs, he'll become a loyal and special part of your home.

Bill Nye is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccinations. You can meet him daily at CASPCA between 12pm-6pm. For more information, email adoptions@caspca.org.

Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA's Adoption Policy
How to Adopt Step 1: Submit an Adoption Application * Please take a look at the adoptable animals below, and if you see one you are interested in, submit an online application using either of the following links. * Submitting an application does not guarantee adoption and does not place the animal on hold. Adoptions are by appointment only. Please submit an application to get a link for scheduling. Step 2: * If the animal you are interested in is in a foster home, we will connect you with the foster via email to set up a virtual appointment or coordinate a time to meet at the shelter. Step 3: Adopt Your New Pet! * Adoptions are processed only after the applicant has met with the animal either through an offsite meeting or at the shelter. * If you have met the animal at the shelter and want to adopt, you can do so that day! Our Adoption Counselors will finalize the paperwork and process payment. All dogs must leave with a collar and a leash, and all cats must leave in a carrier. * If you have spoken with an animal’s foster family and wish to adopt, please reply to the email from our Adoption Counselors, who will process the adoption paperwork and payment electronically.
