Benedict's Story

Our first litter of kittens of the season is officially ready for adoption, and of course we had to go full Bridgerton with their names.

Eloise came to us first as a single kitten from one of our incredible volunteer trappers. As much as we loved her, we have a strict rule here: kittens need friends. So we reached out to JPAWS and asked them to keep us in mind if they had kittens around her age.

The very next day, they called with a litter of four. We didn’t hesitate. Welcome Penelope, Benedict, Hyacinth, and Francesca.

All five have now been spayed and neutered and have been living their best lives in our isolation playroom. They spend their days racing around, watching TV, keeping an eye on the cars outside, and learning from our long-time resident adults, Louise and Luigi.

We know these are the kittens everyone asks for. The tiny ones. The “baby babies.” And while we would love to keep them tucked away forever, that’s not how this works. Every kitten that gets adopted opens up space for the next litter that needs us.

At the same time, we’re asking you to look twice at our older kittens and juveniles. They are just as sweet, often easier, and they are the ones who tend to be overlooked while everyone waits for kittens like these.

So yes, the Bridgerton babies are ready. But so are many others who have been waiting much longer.

Apply to adopt and give one (or two) of them the home they deserve.

If you’d like to meet me, stop by Jefferson Feed (corner of Jefferson Hwy. and Central Ave.). We kindly ask that visits be made earlier in the day, as the last hour before closing is reserved for medications and end-of-day care.

Adoption Fee is $200/each or $350/pair. We like our kittens to have friends so we want a pair adoption if you have no other pets unless we know a specific kitten prefers to be alone. All kittens are Spayed/Neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines, FeLV/FIV tested and microchipped.

Please note: this application is view-only in Dropbox and must be downloaded to your device to be completed. Jefferson SPCA's Adoption Policy
We require a completed adoption application for all animals. Applications are carefully reviewed to ensure the best possible match for both the adopter and the pet. This process typically takes 3–5 business days and is not immediate. We do not offer same-day adoptions. Animals are not “held,” “reserved,” or adopted on demand. Meeting an animal does not guarantee approval, and animals are not adopted on a first-come, first-served basis. Our team prioritizes thoughtful, responsible placements. We verify information provided on applications, including veterinary history and landlord approval when applicable. Incomplete or inaccurate applications will not be approved. Adoption inquiries should be directed to our team: Cats and small animals: Hannah, hannah@jeffersonspca.org Dogs: Martha (volunteer coordinator), cajunlassie78@att.net Email is the best and fastest way to communicate with our organization. While Jefferson Feed kindly hosts our adoption center, their staff is not involved in the adoption process and cannot provide application updates or approvals. We ask that adopters respect their time and direct all adoption-related questions to our team. We are committed to placing animals in safe, appropriate, and permanent homes.
