Bella means beautiful, which is a perfect description for this gorgeous Bengal mix girl! She is a very sweet cat, comes when called and vocally answers. She likes to have tummy rubs, loves to knead her blanket, and likes to be next to you to sleep on the couch, or lie down on your lap. She's a kitty with her own preferences. She is definitely a lap cat, but on her terms, when she is ready to settle down. Bella, like many Bengals, prefers not being picked up, or restrained. She sleeps on the end of the bed or cuddled up next to her owner during the night. She also has a favorite box she likes to rest and sleep in. Bella loves big windows to look outside and a tall cat tree to survey her domain from on high. Bella is an indoor only kitty that also loves to spend time in her safe outdoor catio. The adopter that can provide a secure outdoor enclosure/catio for her will make her very happy indeed. Household noises generally do not stress her. She is fine with a vacuum cleaner, but is sacred of hair dryers. Don't blow her with a hair dryer. Her favorite toys include feather wands to jump up and chase, and balls with bells in them to throw in the air and catch. Bella is interactively vocal, she has opinions, which makes her a very fun cat. She responds to voice directions that are given in calm tones and moderate volume.

Bella is not a finicky eater. She currently enjoys Blue Buffalo dry food for indoor cats, Friskies canned food, and special treats of meat, chicken, fish including salmon. Bella is accustomed to eating her food on an island countertop in the kitchen, which keeps the dog from eating all her food. She also likes to use this spot to supervise activities going on in and around the kitchen. This good girl knows the other counters are off limits and she is fine about staying off of them. She tolerates having her nails clipped and is good using her litter box. She has had a rare instance of urination outside her litter box when she was exceedingly stressed. Bella is fine with respectful mild-mannered children aged 4 and older, and also with a gentle cat friendly dog.

Bella's family is relocating to the east coast. A home that gives her lots and lots of attention making Bella an integral part of the family with meaningful interaction would be perfect. NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone's best interests!

We are a 501 (c)3 non-profit rescue group. Most of our beautiful felines come from Northern California Animal Shelters. One of our goals is to keep purebred cats from ever ending up in a shelter. We are happy to help you if you need to rehome your purebred cat. Often, we can offer advice if your cat is having behavioral problems, and you may end up keeping the cat. We do NOT ship cats. We will place cats out of area but you must arrange to come and meet your new friend in person.
