Bear's Story

**La version francophone se trouve plus bas**

Bear is very protective of her siblings and loves grooming them and keeping an eye on them. She is still shy and nervous around people and needs time to learn to trust. She doesn’t like being picked up and prefers affection on her own terms. She may hiss when approached or handled, but can relax a little with gentle petting when she feels comfortable.

Despite her shy nature, Bear loves to play! Her favorite activities include chasing wand toys and running after toys thrown for her.

Bear needs a patient and understanding family who will respect her boundaries and give her the space she needs when feeling overwhelmed. With time, kindness, and patience, she can slowly come out of her shell and learn to feel safe and loved.

At TNR La Peche Our cats and kittens come mainly from farms and rural areas where they were abandoned, left to fend for themselves, and facing a very uncertain future. Thank you for helping us give them a second chance.

Our adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, age appropriate vaccinations, parasite treatments, and a microchip.
*If vaccinations are not completed at the time of adoption, the remaining vaccines will be covered by us. We will provide you with the available appointment dates; you will simply need to bring your cat to the appointments.

If you think you could be the perfect family, we would love to hear from you!

[La version française suit] Adopt through TNR La Pêche in 6 steps: 1. Find a cat: Visit PetFinder to see which cats and kittens are currently available. 2. Apply: Complete the adoption application at tnrlapeche.ca and tell us which cat has stolen your heart, along with a little about yourself and your home. 3. Connect with the foster family: One of our volunteers will contact you within a few days and connect you with the cat’s foster family so you can arrange a visit. 4. Meet the cat: Meet the cat in their foster home to see if you have a connection. We do not allow same-day adoptions. The cat will be reserved for you until 5 p.m. the day after your visit (for example, if you visit on Monday, the cat is reserved until Tuesday at 5 p.m.). After that, we cannot guarantee the cat will still be available. 5. Officially adopt: Email us to confirm that you wish to proceed with the adoption. Our volunteers will normally process your request within 48 hours. You’ll then receive the adoption agreement and a link to pay the adoption fee. Once we’ve confirmed receipt of both, we’ll let you and the foster family know that everything is finalized. 6. Pick up your new cat: Once everything is confirmed, arrange a pick-up time that works for you and the foster family. Congratulations!
