Bear, a.k.a. Teddy is a shy, gentle, sweet soul. He lets me pick him up and hug him, kiss his head, face and nose and although he clearly doesn't enjoy it as much as I do but he lets me have my fun. Bear doesn't have a mean bone in his body. Bear gets along with other cats; he is actually intimidated by most of my other foster cats.

He has a great personality: despite his rough start in life he doesn't hold a grudge against people. One of our feeders told us about Bear. About a year ago she noticed a cat sitting under a window of the apartment building behind her house. The cat was sitting there day and night, only left for short periods of times. The feeder was hoping he would come to eat with the other cats but he hadn't for a long time. Finally he started coming to her house to eat and we were able to trap him. So his life on the street has come to an end and he is ready for the comfortable life he deserves in his forever home.

All Bronx Tails cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested for Feline AIDS and Feline Leukemia (negative for both) and are litterbox reliable and loving toward people.

We require adopters to fill out an application, have basic references checked, allow a home visit (to ensure conditions are safe and reasonable), and pay an adoption fee. We allow all adopters an up-to-2-week-long tryout period to determine if the cat is a good match for them. If not, we will retrieve the cat(s) and return the adoption fee in full. We will also help with tips and methods for introducing the cat(s) to other pets, if needed.
