Basil (Barn Cat)'s Story
*Barn/colony/working cat*
*Must be in a barn with other cats as she LOVES other cats*

Basil
Female DSH Brown Tabby
Estimated age: 3 years old

Basil came into rescue with a group of her descendants (her 3 younger kittens and 2 older kittens from last year). Basil had consistently stayed around her caretaker's house for the past few years, but the caretaker wanted to find a new placement for her.

All of the kittens are old enough to get adopted themselves so now we are trying to find placement for Basil who unfortunately just never warmed up after months in foster. Basil is ALWAYS attached at the hip with another cat and will walk in step with them. Having lived primarily outside, she was not socialized and would very much prefer to be a barn cat or under someone's care in a colony. We require that anyone adopting her have experience with proper barn cat care and will properly aclimate her to her new area with the recommended 2 week containment period. She is definitely a cat who doesn't mind people as long as they are 5 feet away and do not intend on bothering her!

Medical: All cats are spayed/neutered, current on age approriate vaccines (rabies and distemper), microchipped, given flea/tick prevention and dewormer, FIV/FeLV tested, and any other veterinary care that is needed prior to adoption. She is also ear tipped.

If you are interested in adopting, please contact us via email at figandfriendspetrescue@gmail.com since the criteria for a barn/working cat home is different than what we ask on our traditional application.
