Meet Baby

A loving pair of hands... 99 years old. Hands that have held generations of children and pets, alike. A deeply loving woman,

holding her 10 year old calico, Baby.

As is, so often, the case; this call led to a need for response. This woman AND her cat need someone to step up. We do not have open foster homes (we were unable to intake Baby) but we have a courtesy listing on the adoption search engines. We are sharing the story on social media, as well, because we need all eyes on this! A solution must be found and this is the only way we know to spread it around. Please help by sharing:) Here is an excerpt from the message sent by the family:

"She's always been a quiet and sweet cat until this point. My Grandma said she had never seen her act this way. My Grandma was awakened with the cat squeezing her arm with both its arms and it gave her small bites. The cat usually sleeps with her. I know the cat has also been fed on the bed, among other places. She is petting on her today and sitting by her but she's afraid of it now. It's also getting harder for her to take care of as she's 99 years old now. She has such thin skin and it's a lot more of a hazard now about scratches. She had gotten a couple marks from the cat recently before last night already on her. Grandma is terribly sad but feels it's time to let her go after the episode last night."

That was on March 4th. There have been no incidents, since. They believe that this was likely an isolated event caused by Grandma touching the cats belly in her sleep. Regardless of the cause or the improvements.... Grandma is fearful and everyone agrees this is the best solution.
