Babs's Story

FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our pets are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks!

---

Meet Babs! This sweet gal came to us as emergency call on a holiday weekend. She had been in labor for over a day and needed to have an emergency c-section. She had two surviving kittens and has been the best mom. Now the kittens are weaned and it's time to find this gal a home.

Bags is currently living in a foster home, while she started off a bit sassy - from tail flicks to purrs and lovin's - she has started to settle as her kittens are more independent. She's only about 8 pounds. We were told she lived with other cats, but we have no way to test her. She is living with foster dogs - and is learning to be tolerant of them.

Bobs is beautiful, we even did something we've never done - DNA on her kittens. They are kind of spotty and much bigger than a typical DSH kitten. Babs is using a litter box with sand litter.

When you adopt a kitten or cat from Save-A-Mutt - adopters are sign a contract indicating you will:
- never declaw your adopted cat(s)
- keep your adopted kitten(s) indoors
- care for your adopted cat(s) for their entire lives

Babs is spayed, microchipped, and when she goes home, will be vaccinated with Rabies and FVRCP. Because she is finishing up nursing, we had to hold vaccines. She goes will go home with an adoption bag of treats and toys.

Adoption fee is $100. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3.

Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We dont ship animals, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA.

Save-A-Mutt's Adoption Policy
Save-A-Mutt is a Foster Based rescue. All our dogs are in foster homes, there is no facility to visit. All adopters are required to fill out an application. As we review the application, we may have questions - and prefer email to ask/answer them. So please check your email regularly. We may remove adoptable animals off of Petfinder while we work on applications - but will contact you to let you know. We like to have one good app per pet as not to disappoint people. It can take a couple days to finish an application, depending on your references, etc. Please let your references know that will be sending emails - they sometime go to junk mail. We enjoy open communication, but we are a volunteer organization, so please be patient. Once we receive all the information we need, we will schedule a phone interview, home check, etc. Thank you and we will be in touch! Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make acceptions only with the approval of the foster home.
