Avocado's Story
Meet stunning Avocado, looking for a new home. He is incredibly sweet with people and loves affection and cuddling, although he is a bit shy on first meeting. He also has an independent side. This is an extra special cat--he is 100% deaf and has nystagmus. Nystagmus in cats is the involuntary, rhythmic movement of the eyes (usually side-to-side or rotary). He walks fine, but loves to climb and sometimes he is unbalanced when he jumps down from a height.
Avocado does not do well with other cats or animals so needs to live in a quiet home without children or other pets. He is sometimes anxious and has been on Prozac for 2 months to help him be calm. He can be quite vocal in the middle of the night! Because he is deaf and requires a bit of extra care and patience, he would ideally be adopted by someone with experience caring for deaf or special needs cats, although this is not absolutely necessary. He seems to be more comfortable around women, but he could be happy with anyone who could provide the right environment for him. He needs to be an indoor only kitty.
Avocado is about 10 years old, neutered, up to date on necessary vaccines, FIV/FELV negative, microchipped, and fully litter box trained. He recently had a full dental cleaning. He eats only wet food.
His rehoming fee is $125. His food, litter boxes and medications would come with him.
For more information or to arrange a meet and greet, please contact Liz at 707 496-9623 or elizabethfinger1@gmail.com.
Please share.
Thanks!
