***Alaska is experiencing an Extended Stay at the shelter. So, in hopes of helping her find her forever home sooner her adoption fee has been reduced by 50% to only $15!

Alaska is a 7 year old spayed female. She is current on her vaccinations, microchipped, and FIV/FeLV negative!

Alaska is a larger than life lady - in both size and personality - and she can't wait to find her loving and relaxing forever home. When she first came into the shelter, she was a bit unsure of her new surroundings but since going into a wonderful foster home, she has started to show her truly mellow and relaxed personality. She loves just simply hanging out with her favorite people with getting occasional pets and cuddles. Her foster mom says she can be quite the vocal kitty at times but is a great conversationalist as she will literally hold down a whole conversation with you if you let her! She also enjoys hopping up in the windows to birdwatch or sunbathe.

Alaska is a great companion kitty once she meets her favorite people but she also still appreciates her independence at times. So, she is looking for a family with slightly older children at least 5 years of age or older who understand that she may prefer her space at times. She may do ok with other calm and respectful pets in the home too given slow and proper introductions to one another. She has lived with other cats in both her previous foster home as well as in a communal living area here at the shelter who she has gotten along with great, so she shouldn't mind having another feline friend in her new home either!
