Ziggy

Ziggy is a female Congo African grey, 26 years old. She was with the same person all her life until her owner became ill and could no longer provide good care, and Ziggy became cage bound. We've given her a bigger cage, a varied diet, and she's scheduled for her wellness visit with an avian veterinarian shortly. She supposedly has a wide vocabulary, but we don't know her well enough yet to know what that entails. Ziggy loves listening to music and nature TV. She used to fly, we hope that she can do that again! Way too many parrots have heart disease because they don't get to exercise enough.<br/><br/>IMPORTANT PROCESS INFORMATION: Before we can discuss a specific bird with you, we ask that you follow our adoption and education process. Some birds are in foster homes that may adopt them, but there are many other birds waiting for our help who are not yet posted in PetFinders. The adoption coordinator in your area will work with you to find the best home for each bird, and a species and personality that works best for your family. We want to set everyone up for success, especially our parrots!<br/><br/>To get started, the adoption process includes completing our parrot match application and attending one of our core classes. We do not ship birds. However, everyone is welcome and encouraged to join us for our online events. Parrots are unique and they deserve us to be informed caretakers.
