They are going to be spending most of their lives inside their cage; your housing must be as large as the below or larger (bigger is always better!) in order to adopt this pet.<br/>- For 1-2 parakeets, 22" wide x 16" deep x 27" high. With more birds the cage must be larger<br/>- Bar spacing no wider than inch<br/>- Parakeets need more horizontal flight space than they do vertical.<br/><br/>Parakeets are a social species, meaning they usually enjoy the company of their own kind. If there are two names listed together (eg Peanut Butter w/Jelly), that means that the two animals are a bonded pair of friends, and must be adopted together.<br/><br/>Got a single at home you're looking for a friend for? Any animal listed alone on our website is a single and a great candidate; if there is a group of 3 or more, usually one can be taken out of that group as a companion for your single.<br/>- A new friend will need a separate cage until friendship has been established<br/>- Parakeets are relatively easy to introduce to one another, as long as there is sufficient space
