His current family bought him from Petco when he was just a few months old, and he has grown into a sweet, affectionate bird — one who deserves an environment where he can truly thrive. The most important thing to know about him is that he will be happiest in a calm, quieter household. His current home has three young kids and two adults, and the home simply has more energy than Moxxie is comfortable with. This environment is stressful for him and he becomes loud and agitated. Moxxie is strongly bonded to humans and genuinely social. He is great company while you are reading books; he will sit on your knees quietly and happily. He loves being on shoulders, following people around, and inserting himself into whatever you're doing. When guests come over, don't be surprised if he flies over to say hello. He mirrors the energy around him — in a calm setting, he's a relaxed, curious, cuddly companion. Moxxie loves to cuddle, but on his terms. He loves to lean against a hand, sleeve, or neck — he's a real cuddle bug. That said, he has his own boundaries around being pet or scritched directly, and he'll let you know when you've crossed the line. What he needs in a home: * A calm, lower-activity household * No dogs or cats (he has no experience with other animals) * Patience and willingness to learn his cues — parrot experience is a plus but not required Moxxie has been disease-tested for chlamydia and PBFD, Moxxie is currently with his family in Westfield, NJ as part of the **For the Love of Birds** Help with Rehoming program.
