Meet Marimba, Oboe, and Viola

Hi, my name is Marimba! Here is what would work best for me in my new home:

-Personality: Chatty, active, in need of some socialization
-Lifespan: 5-10 years
-Finger Trained: No
-Can Live With Kids: Yes, however they should not be my primary caregiver and should only handle me with adult supervision
-Experienced Bird Home: Not required, but you will need to do plenty of research if I will be your first parakeet
-Can Live With Other Birds: Yes, parakeets are naturally flock birds. Ideally they will all be adopted together, or should at least be adopted in pairs / go into a home with an existing parakeet.
-Bite History: None
-Additional information: Parakeets need a nice roomy cage with different levels and perches as well as toys, swings and cuttlebone to keep their beaks trimmed. They will need plenty of birdseed - being careful not to leave a bowl full of empty seeds. Parakeets favorite fruit treats include apples, pears, melon, kiwi, berries, grapes and oranges. Parakeets are very social and love to live with a companion. If they are the only one in the cage, they must be handled daily without fail. Parakeets are capable of picking up speech, becoming finger trained and so much more!
