Porter's Story

Meet Porter, a very handsome white and gray gerbil with a busy schedule full of investigating everyone else’s business. Curious and just a little nosy, Porter doesn’t miss a beat. Our volunteers love watching him hop from his wheel to his burrows and then suddenly strike a cute pose in hopes of convincing someone to hand over a treat (spoiler: it usually works).

We estimate this little fella is about 10–12 months old and Porter is still learning that people can be pretty great. He can be a little skittish with new experiences, but he’s been making progress with learning to trust—especially when snacks are involved.

Porter is looking for a patient, loving home where he can where he can grow more comfortable with his people, zoom around to his heart’s content, and keep tabs on all the latest happenings from the comfort of his burrows.

If you would be interested in adopting a gerbil from Luna's House, please take a moment to fill out an online application at the following link: https://lunashouse.org/php_email_form/formphp.html

Once we have received and approved your completed application, we can schedule a time for your family to come meet with Porter. You will be coming to our Animal Care and Education Center, located at 2801 Pulaski Highway in Edgewood, MD. The adoption fee for a single gerbil is $15. This is a donation meant to help cover part of the cost of caring for the animals you are adopting while they are with us, including veterinary exam, fecal check, food, bedding, etc.
