Mouse's Story

Meet Mouse!

Mouse is a guinea pig, not a literal mouse. Just look at him and you can tell where his name came from ;-)

We believe he is approximately eight months old. When he came to us after being abandoned, Mouse was pretty nervous, but with handling, routine and treats, he has really blossomed and is very sweet. Mouse is very playful. He likes to be held. He is comfortable with dogs (obviously those without prey drive).

Mouse is a rare example of a guinea pig who is going to do best as a single. He was rescued with another male but he was nipping at the other pig's behind. We tried him with a couple other males just in case it was a chemistry thing but he was still not happy, so he is going to live his best life as a single with a human best friend

We are looking for a safe, steady home for Mouse for his entire life, not just while he is convenient to have. Guinea pigs need a pretty good sized habitat to allow them exercise and mental stimulation.

**Please note: Indigo rescue only adopts to homes within 30 miles of Beaverton, Oregon. The first part of our process is to have you complete our online adoption application. This helps us make compatible matches. You can find the application on our Indigorescue.org website under the adoption tab. We’ll get back to you from there to hopefully arrange a meet for you.
