Misty & Olive's Story

Fostered in Warren, RI.

UPDATE 4/11/26:

Misty gave birth to Olive and her brother as a surprise at a shelter during a major snowstorm. These two ladies are nervous to start, but they warm up to you very quickly.

Mom (Misty) is the more brave and friendly one and will gladly take pets and enjoys being picked up. Baby Olive is a little more timid and isn’t the biggest fan of being picked up yet. Mom is an attention hog and will get jealous if you’re giving anyone else attention and will push her way past them so she can get all the pets.

They are both still young, so they are filled with zoomies and are always chasing each other around the cage, so if you hear a ruckus coming from the other room, don’t be alarmed. They’re still nervous when it comes to play time outside of the cage because new spaces can be a little scary for them. However they’re extremely food motivated so as long as there are treats involved, they’re okay.

These two ladies would do best with older children or adults only, as loud noises and quick movements can still be very scary for them. They are extremely non-confrontational when it comes to other rats so introducing them to another girl or a group should be very easy.
