Mindy & Tuti's Story

Meet Tuti & Mindy!

Tuti and Mindy are an adorable mother-daughter duo looking for a patient, understanding forever home together.

These girls are active! They aren’t the most calm during lap time. They are busy girls and just want to explore. This is partly because of their young age and the fact that they were probably not handled a lot and we know that overtime they will calm down and get used to that time. But they definitely need someone patient. We’ve also discovered that Tuti likes to nibble on your fingers, not in a hard or way that breaks the skin, but because of this, we think that they should only go to a home with preteens, teenagers and adult.

These sweet girls came to Southern California Guinea Pig Rescue as emergency intakes over the Fourth of July weekend after we became concerned they might end up in the wrong home.

Since arriving in foster care, theyve been settling in and slowly learning that people can be kind. Tuti, the larger of the two, is a young mama who has done a wonderful job caring for little Mindy. Mindy is just a baby, and together theyre rarely far from each others side.

Being picked up and held is still very scary for both girls, so theyre looking for an adopter who understands that trust takes time. With patience, gentle handling, and lots of love, we know theyll continue to blossom. Watching them grow more comfortable each day has already been so rewarding.

If you have a soft spot for shy guinea pigs and would love the opportunity to help two deserving girls build confidence, Tuti and Mindy may be the perfect pair for you.

Approximate ages:
Tuti: Under 6 months old
Mindy: Approximately 6 weeks old

We ask that adopters be willing to provide a 2x4 grid C&C cage (larger is even better!).

For more on guinea pig care, please visit our website:
https://www.socalguineapigrescue.org/guinea-pig-care

Cage information:
https://www.socalguineapigrescue.org/cage-guide
