Katie and Tyson's Story
Meet Katie and Tyson, two adorable Abyssinian guinea pigs who found each other here at Luna's House. Katie, a beautiful white-and-orange abyssinian gal is about 6 months old and Tyson, a handsome black-and-orange abyssinian fellow with a coarser, teddy bear-like coat is about 10 months old.

One of our favorite parts of rescuing is watching unexpected friendships bloom. Katie and Tyson came to Luna's House separately, and after taking the time to introduce them properly, it didn't take long for these two to decide they made a pretty great pair.

Tyson is quite the comedian and snack enthusiast. If you happen to drive past Luna's House while Tyson is making his feelings known about lettuce, there's a non-zero chance you'll hear him from the highway. Once his snack demands have been met, he's content exploring with Katie and graciously accepting the occasional chin scratch or being held for a belly rub.

Katie is an absolute gem. Sweet, gentle, and happiest when she's being doted on, she loves pets while being held--you'll know you've earned her approval when she starts to purr. And while she may be a short little lady (as guinea pigs tend to be), Katie has dreams of greater heights. When she isn't getting her beauty sleep inside her Pigloos and hides, she's usually perched proudly atop them, keeping an eye on the action. A girl likes to stay informed!!

If you're looking for a pair that will keep you laughing and melt your heart, Katie and Tyson are excited to meet you.

If you would be interested in adopting Katie and Tyson from Luna's House, please take a moment to fill out an online adoption application at the following link: https://lunashouse.org/php_email_form/formphp.html

Once we have received and approved your completed application, we can schedule a time for you to come meet with available piggies. You will be coming to our Animal Care and Education Center, located at 2801 Pulaski Highway in Edgewood, MD. The adoption fee for a pair of neutered male guinea pigs is $85, for a neutered male/spayed female pair is $100, and for a pair of spayed females is $120. The adoption fee is a donation meant to help us offset part of the cost of caring for the animals you are adopting while they are with us, including veterinary exam, spay or neuter surgery, fecal check, food, bedding, etc. Collection of adoption fees helps us to continue to help animals in need.
