Jimothy and Sonic's Story

Jimothy & his papa, Sonic!

Jimothy, his papa Sonic, his mama, and his sisters came to us after someone purchased Mama and Dad from a pet store. And, well... it’s a tale as old as time. Mama was already pregnant.

When the family arrived, they were all severely underweight. We were told that Jimothy was a six-week-old baby, but that didn’t quite add up because this little guy looked like he was **two or three days old at most!**

Fast forward almost a month, and this entire family is doing fantastic. Jimothy is now a normal, growing baby guinea pig, developing exactly as he should — and boy, is he ever a spunky little guy!

And then there’s his papa, Sonic. Sonic is actually a teenage dad himself, only about 4–5 months old at most, but you’d never know it from his personality. He is the sweetest boy and absolutely loves snuggling during lap time.

Both boys eagerly take treats from our hands, regularly do zoomies, and are just as happy as can be.

We’re so happy to see how far these two have come, and now **Jimothy and Sonic are looking for their forever home — and they also need a foster home while they wait!**

Interested in adopting Jimothy & Sonic?

Submit an adoption application at SoCalGuineaPigRescue.org

Interested in fostering?

Submit a foster application through our website.

**Cage requirements:Guinea pigs need plenty of space to run, popcorn, and explore.

Southern California Guinea Pig Rescue's Adoption Policy
Adopters must fill out an application (available online) and submit a photo or receipt of their cage so we can verify our minimum space requirements are met. After approval, arrangements are made for the adopter to meet the guinea pigs with an experienced volunteer to facilitate the introductions and answer any questions. If trying to pair a single guinea pig with a current pig, the application process is the same but the meeting process is a bit lengthier. The adopter can meet with several single guinea pigs to see which one may be a harmonious match. Initial introductions can last a couple hours and the adopter will go home and reintroduce the guinea pigs and monitor for signs of aggression. If the bond fails, the adopter must separate the guinea pigs and we will make arrangements to take the guinea pig back. Then we repeat until we find a good match.
