Isaac has had a lot of misfortune throughout his fairly young life. Early in his life he was sold at Green Dragon auction along with 9 other hamsters. The people that bought did not know about hamsters and kept him with other hamsters in a dirty 10-gallon aquarium. Isaac was thought to be female initially which just caused more problems and fighting in a small cage. Considering what Issac has been through he is a very sweet hamster and easy to handle. He could not believe the cage we put him in when he arrived and just loved walking around checking it out. His ears do shows signs of fighting, they are torn in places, but everything has healed. While we have no idea how old Isaac is, we are estimating him to be between 5-8 months old.<br/><br/>Isaac is being fostered in Macungie, PA, the adoption fee for Isaac is $15. <br/><br/>All hamsters are solitary animals and should be housed by themselves. They are crepuscular meaning they prefer to come out during dusk and dawn as well as overnight. For this reason, they do not always make the best pets for children under the age of ten. Hamsters can make cute and fun little pets, but as any pets do, they require some special care. <br/><br/>We recommend all our hamsters, regardless of if they are Syrian or dwarf move into a cage that has at least 600 sq inches of continuous floor space. Many cages sold in pet stores will not meet this requirement.
