Honey & Sheila's Story
Honey came to us in February 2026 from Austin Animal Center (AAC), with another guinea pig called Peanut Butter. Both girls were adopted, but within a week Honey lost a lot of weight suddenly, so they had to be returned to the rescue. Honey happened to have an upper respiratory infection, for which she received treatment. Her bond with Peanut Butter broke, and they each went their separate ways, while Honey continued to recuperate and grown stronger and bigger. Fast forward three months, and Honey is fully recovered and ready for adoption! Not only that, but she met a friend called Sheila (who also came from AAC) and they're now happily sharing a cage.

Now, although Sheila is almost twice as big as Honey, Honey is definitely the boss! They are both tame and will let you pet them while in the cage. As soon as some rustling is heard, or someone is seen near the fridge, both girls will WHEEK loudly for veggies. Honey sometimes climbs on top of the igloo to make her voice more clearly heard! They both really enjoy cuddles, and they're the sweetest girls you could find.

Suitable for children and not scared of well-behaved cats/other pets.
