Henry and Thistle's Story

Meet the ultimate duo: two inseparable piggies with style, swagger, and a bond that’s as strong as it is adorable!

Henry is the rebel of the pair—rocking a perfectly tousled mohawk that makes him look like he just strutted out of a punk concert. He’s bold, confident, and always the first to explore something new. Henry is about two years old as of April 2026. He was found wandering in a Los Angeles park.

Right by his side is his best friend Thistle. Thistle’s mother was rescued from a terrible hoarding situation and gave birth to Thistle on August 1, 2025. With a shiny coat that practically glows and a naturally dapper appearance, he’s the definition of charm and class. He’s calm where his friend is daring—but together, they balance each other perfectly.

They do everything as a team—snacking, napping, and getting into just a little bit of mischief. Different styles, same heart. Two piggies, one unbreakable friendship. 🐷✨

We ask that adopters be willing to provide a 2x4 grid c&c cage (larger is better!)

For more on care and cages please see our website.
https://www.socalguineapigrescue.org/guinea-pig-care

Cage info
https://www.socalguineapigrescue.org/cage-guide

Southern California Guinea Pig Rescue's Adoption Policy
Adopters must fill out an application (available online) and submit a photo or receipt of their cage so we can verify our minimum space requirements are met. After approval, arrangements are made for the adopter to meet the guinea pigs with an experienced volunteer to facilitate the introductions and answer any questions. If trying to pair a single guinea pig with a current pig, the application process is the same but the meeting process is a bit lengthier. The adopter can meet with several single guinea pigs to see which one may be a harmonious match. Initial introductions can last a couple hours and the adopter will go home and reintroduce the guinea pigs and monitor for signs of aggression. If the bond fails, the adopter must separate the guinea pigs and we will make arrangements to take the guinea pig back. Then we repeat until we find a good match.
