Meet Dusty & Pepper!<br/>This energetic duo is excited to meet their forever family!<br/>Dusty and Pepper were transferred to us from another shelter. They are active, curious and adorable! <br/>They are male, about 8 months old and will be adopted as a bonded pair.<br/><br/>Chinchillas can be great family pets due to their small size and quiet nature. While they are naturally clean and odourless, they can also be potty trained. They enjoy bonding with their pet parents and another same-gender chinchilla. They have simple dietary requirements, and are less active during the daytime, which is ideal for pet parents that are busy or away.<br/><br/>Additional Quick Chinchilla Facts:<br/>- They are herbivores and need a high-fiber diet consisting mostly of grass hay.<br/>- They are a long lived rodent, with a lifespan of up to 20 years<br/>- They are very social and love the company of other Chinchillas<br/>- They require a dust bath in special volcanic ash to remove oils from their coat<br/>- They must be kept in cool environment, as their dense coat makes them susceptible to overheating<br/><br/>If you would like to adopt a pet, please call Caledon Animal Services at 905-584-2272 x4698.
