Cookie's Story

Cookie is a 5-year-old female guinea pig with a beautiful black-and-tan coat and an even gentler spirit. Cookie tends to be shy and prefers to observe the world from a safe, comfortable distance before deciding how she feels about new people or experiences.
She isn’t always a fan of being held, and she’ll let you know when she needs space. Cookie thrives with an understanding owner who moves at her pace, offers patience, and lets her feel secure in her own time. Slow steps, soft voices, and a predictable routine help her relax and show her sweet, thoughtful nature.
Cookie is looking for a kind, calm home where her boundaries are respected and her quiet personality can flourish. With the right person, she will reward patience with trust.

Be sure to check the "shelter information" box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours! Both of our locations are open Tuesdays and Wednesdays 12-5 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 12-7 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays 11 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information on our adoption process, including requirements and fees, visit: https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/animalservices/adopt
