Chimichanga

Meet Chimichanga! Chimi is a male standard grey chinchilla estimated to be about 6-10 years old. He was surrendered to us when his previous owner had passed away, so not much is known about his age or history. He has seen our vet and is healthy overall. When he came in, he had bald patches and even after treating for possible parasites, he still overgrooms. The vet thinks it's anxiety related, so for now we are leaving him be but if his barbering gets worse and he starts irritating his skin, he will need to be put on an anxiety medication. Like most chinchillas, he doesn't like to be handled much, but will take treats from you. Sometimes when he's handled, he shakes with anxiety. Despite his anxiety, he is very active and playful. He loves bouncing around and playing. He loves to chew on lava blacks, timothy sticks and foraging for dried herbs and flowers.<br/><br/>His current foster is offering a whole set-up with him for an additional $350. He does require a room temperature of 70F or lower at ALL TIMES.
