Blanquita and Rosa

Meet Rosa (21118) & Blanquita (21121)!

A bonded pair looking for a home together

Rosa and Blanquita are two adult female rats who came to us from a shelter in Quebec that was overwhelmed with rats. Through no fault of their own, these sweet girls found themselves needing a fresh start — and they’re now hoping to find a loving home where they can stay together.

Rosa is a beautiful hairless girl with a gentle presence and a very special friendship with Blanquita. Blanquita is a lovely white rat who has cataracts, and at this time it’s unclear how much vision she has. But don't let that fool you — Blanquita certainly doesn't let her vision challenges slow her down! She gets around, explores, and enjoys life with the help of her best friend, Rosa.

These two are very dependent on one another, and their bond is incredibly important. They look to each other for comfort, confidence, and companionship, so they must be adopted together.

Blanquita is currently on a trial of antibiotics to see whether an infection may be contributing to her cataracts. Her future medical needs will depend on how she responds to treatment and any recommendations from her veterinarian.

Rosa and Blanquita are looking for an adopter who understands that they may have some extra needs and is willing to give them the patience, care, and love they deserve. In return, these two girls will bring twice the personality and twice the charm!

Rosa & Blanquita are a package deal — where one goes, the other goes too!

You can submit an adoption request at the following link:

https://www.hamilton.ca/home-neighbourhood/animals-pets/adopt-or-foster-pet/adoptions

Adopters must provide their own enclosure and accessories.

Animal adoptions and viewing are by appointment only. This allows our Adoption Staff to spend quality time with each potential home to ensure the most successful matches are made between the animals and their new families.

*Please note: we only adopt within Ontario
