Amadeus's Story

Hi, my name is AMADEUS! Here is what would work best for me in my new home:
-Personality: Shy, alert, active
-Can live with kids: Kids can be in my home, however my primary caregiver needs to be an adult and handling with adult supervision until they are better socialized.
-Experienced Chinchilla home: Not required, but preferred. Research prior to adoption on care is required.
-Lifespan: 10+ years
-Can live with other Chinchillas: Possibly another male chinchilla, however Amadeus has a history of not getting along with other chinchillas in his previous home.
-Bite History: None, but has been known to test nibble.
-Additional information: Amadeus is looking for a loving and responsible forever home! He would LOVE to go home with someone who has prior chinchilla experience and is ready to commit to giving Amadeus a lifelong home. He will need a nice roomy, well ventilated cage with multiple levels that can be kept cool and dry, and has the right kind of flooring to prevent foot injuries. The cage he is currently housed in is a great example of an appropriate enclosure. His diet should consist of high quality pellet food and unlimited grass hay (Timothy/orchard/oat, alfalfa is NOT a grass hay) daily. He will also need dust baths 1-2 times weekly.
