Pancake 's Story

Pancake the bearded dragon.

Pancake is a 3 year old male bearded dragon. For the last two out of the three years that he’s been alive, he has not fed live insects, only vegetables.

We have successfully corrected his diet, and he has no hesitation with consuming bugs.

Pancake has been in ‘socialization rehab’ with us, as he is very nervous. Being so nervous, he becomes defensive. We’ve made slight progress in his socialization, but know that he will likely always be a sassy lizards. The first few minutes of handling Pancake, is the hardest. After that, he begins to calm down and relax.

Pancake was not handled much before coming to us, and this has affected his socialization immensely.

With all of this in mind, Pancake must be adopted to an adult-only home, with prior bearded dragon experience.

He requires much patience, and his potential adopter must understand that Pancake is very defensive when nervous. He is just fine when in his enclosure, when being fed, and when left to his own exploration. The initial amount of human contact, is the hardest for him.
