Ziggy's Story
Ziggy is such a sweetheart! Ziggy is a very gentle bunny who loves petting and doing zoomies. He would do well in a home where he receives a lot of personal attention and affection. He does very well with polite children and is good around other bunnies: he may enjoy a bunny friend.

Ziggy was abandoned after Easter 2026 and rescued by his foster parents. He would love to be a part of a family and get daily affection.

We estimate Ziggy to be 1 year old (at most). He has been neutered and vaccinated for RHDV2 (rabbit hemorrhagic virus). He is in good health and is a healthy weight. She is about the size of a small cat. We believe his main breed may be Havana.

Rabbits can live 10-12 years with good care and an indoor, safe living space! Rabbits need daily Timothy hay, nutritious pellets, greens/veggies, and a bowl of fresh water. Free-roaming or exercise pens work best! We do not recommend cages or hutches or outdoor housing.

All of our bunnies are spayed/neutered and vaccinated against RHDV2.

Our adoption process:

(1) We ask that you look through our educational slides and writeup (under 10 minutes) using the big buttons on the middle of the page here: www.huntsvillehouserabbits.com and please sign up for the virtual class (30 minutes) which runs weekly or contact us directly if this is not possible so we can make an alternate plan for you.

(2) Fill out an adoption application here: www.huntsvillehouserabbits.com/adopt (No obligation to adopt from filling a form out.)

(3) You will be contacted and we’ll set up a meeting for you to meet the bunny!
We advise having a safe indoor space available and an emergency fund set aside for an unexpected vet visit for any pet.

We host a Bunny Basics event (every month on the third Saturday at Southpaw Animal Clinic in Madison, 1-2:30pm) to learn more about bunny care and meet bunnies. We love questions and invite you to come talk to us! We especially recommend this if you are new to rabbits or it has been many years, have small children or multiple pets, or have any history with 4H (as their instruction is often extremely lacking / incorrect).

Please reach out if you have any questions! Message us on our Facebook rescue page or e-mail us at HuntsvilleHouseRabbits@gmail.com

Note: Our rescue does not do on-the-spot adoptions; instead we schedule a meetup for you to meet the bunny you are interested in first and make sure you are comfortable with everything required for their care. We must have a form from you first. We find that this helps tremendously in helping adopters find the rabbit that is right for them.

Our adoption fee for a single rabbit is $100 or $150 for a bonded pair (less than the cost of spay or neuter alone for a single bunny). Why so high? This is less than 1/3 of the cost for healthy bunny veterinary care and helps our rescue with the cost: your bunny will have an exam, fecal test, spay or neuter, and RHDV2 vaccination already done! :)
