Wolkje

Meet Wolkje!! (case #22469)

Some clouds bring rain, but Wolkje brings sunshine! This handsome little fellow got his name from the Dutch word for “little cloud,” and with his soft, fluffy appearance, we think it suits him perfectly. He may be on the smaller side, but when it comes to friendliness, this little cloud has a huge silver lining!

Wolkje’s story started in a rather unfortunate way: he was found tucked inside a box beside a dumpster at an elementary school. Thankfully, he’s now safe and sound, and he’s ready to leave that cloudy chapter behind in favour of brighter skies and a forever home of his own.

One thing you’ll quickly discover about Wolkje is that his friendly nature is anything but small! He’s a charming little guy who’s ready to bring some extra fluff and happiness into someone’s life. Whether you’re looking for a delightful companion to brighten your days or a little bunny to make your home feel that much cozier, Wolkje could be just the cloud you’ve been waiting for.

Of course, rabbits are more than just adorable bundles of fluff! They’re intelligent, curious animals who need room to hop, explore, dig, chew, and express their natural behaviours. Wolkje will need a spacious, bunny-proofed living area rather than a small cage, plenty of supervised exercise, and a variety of rabbit-safe toys and enrichment to keep his mind and body busy. His diet should consist primarily of unlimited grass hay, with fresh water always available, an appropriate portion of rabbit pellets, and suitable fresh leafy greens. He’ll also need regular grooming, routine veterinary care from a rabbit-savvy veterinarian, and gentle handling that supports his comfort and safety.

Rabbits can form wonderful bonds with their people, but they often prefer interacting on their own terms. Spending time down at Wolkje’s level, offering treats, and allowing him to approach you voluntarily are great ways to build trust and develop a friendship. With the right care, he can be a delightful little companion for years to come!

After an uncertain start, Wolkje deserves a future filled with soft blankets, delicious hay, safe places to explore, and people who adore him as much as he deserves. No more boxes by dumpsters for this little cloud — it’s time for blue skies ahead!

Could Wolkje be the little cloud that brightens your home? Meet him at our adoption partner, PetSmart on Wednesday October 21st. The address is 1779 Stone Church Road East, Stoney Creek.

Adopters must provide their own enclosure and accessories.

**Please note: we only adopt within Ontario.
