Spottie Dottie's Story

Spottie Dottie came to HRS from San Jose Animal Services.

Dotty is a sweet girl that doesn't startle easily and will delicately take snacks from your hand and crawl on you for pets (she particularly likes her cheeks rubbed and will let you know with gentle purrs). She has excellent litter box habits and is quick to come say 'hello' with friendly nose bonks. Special treats launch her into zoomies and the most adorable binkys. She is generally mild and gentle but her playful side shines through when presented with new toys. Despite being respectful of the furniture, she is quick toss, explore, and rearrange any gift given to her. Occasionally she will dig or nip at objects in her way (even people) but is quickly learning with a loud 'eep' when her rough housing is not appreciated. As she is eager to please, it probably wouldn't take her long to be the perfect pet. Unfortunately, she was a little too aggressive with her demands for attention from our resident rabbit as she is perfectly adorable and loveable otherwise and we would have been delighted to keep her forever.

Spottie's idea of playing is exploring! She's very curious and will check out new things with caution at first. She will toss around a toy a few times then ignore it.

"She's very inquisitive and curious about her environment. She has a lot of energy and would prioritize exploring over sleeping. She has been successful scurrying into areas we didn't want her to be in (behind the laundry unit), so while she is a sweet bunny, she may benefit from a true play pen set up and someone who has thought through the nooks and crannies of the space."

Spottie Dottie is neutered/spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated against RHDV2 (vaccine needs to be administered annually). House Rabbit Society recommends all rabbits see a rabbit-savvy veterinarian once a year.

Submit an adoption application for Spottie Dottie at houserabbit.org. House Rabbit Society is located in Richmond, California, just north of San Francisco. Questions? Email foster@houserabbit.org and we'll be happy to talk more with you!
