Nutmeg's Story
Pellets: 1 tablespoon Oxbow Essentials Adult Rabbit Food (AM)
Hay: Unlimited mixed hay (all day)
Salad: 1x a day 1 cup parsley, cilantro, romaine lettuce (PM)

Meet Nutmeg, a delightful Rex bunny with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She arrived at SDHRS in February 2026 and immediately impressed us by hopping right into her carrier all on her own-confident, curious, and ready for her next adventure. Playful and full of energy, she loves to explore and will need a well bunny-proofed home to match her adventurous spirit, complete with the occasional joyful zoomies. Nutmeg is wonderfully affectionate and communicative-she adores snuggles, may "honk" excitedly at salad time, and will even show you exactly how she likes her blankets arranged. Impressively tidy with excellent litter habits, she seems especially content bonding closely with her chosen person and will make a loving, lively companion in a forever home.

Spayed: 12/18/25

Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV) is a highly contagious and deadly disease that affects both wild and domestic rabbits. The virus is causing deaths in rabbits and hares native to North America and is spreading rapidly. In addition to detection of RHDV2 in wild cottontail rabbits and jackrabbits, RHDV2 has been confirmed in domestic rabbits on 50 premises, including a detection in a feral domestic rabbit. Please make sure to vaccinate your rabbits every year. For more information, please visit our website at: https://sandiegorabbits.org/education/rhdv
