Mister's Story
Pellets: 1/4 cup Oxbow Essentials Adult Rabbit Food (AM)
Hay: Unlimited mixed hay (all day)
Salad: 1x a day 1 cup spring mix, parsley, cilantro, romaine lettuce (PM)

Mister is a beautiful bunny who came to us from a local shelter in April of 2024. He is a shy but steadily blossoming bunny who just needs a little time and patience to feel safe. He may start off skittish and retreat to his hidey when someone enters his space, but after a few quiet moments he'll often come out to hang nearby, sploot, or even flop in the open-white belly and all. Mister allows gentle head rubs, especially while eating, and he's begun showing signs of enjoying them (including the occasional tooth purr). He's especially active in the mornings, when you'll see zoomies, binkies, and playful energy-pellet time is his favorite part of the day. Mister is a curious and mischievous bun who loves to dig and chew, so bunny-proofing and enrichment toys are a must! He enjoys chew toys and rearranging his space. Handling is still a work in progress. Mister strongly dislikes being picked up, but with patient, confident handling he can settle and has successfully tolerated nail trims. He's made great progress overall and is much more confident and comfortable than when he first arrived. Mister would do best in a calm, patient home that respects his boundaries and allows him to build trust at his own pace.

Neutered: 5/19/24

Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV) is a highly contagious and deadly disease that affects both wild and domestic rabbits. The virus is causing deaths in rabbits and hares native to North America and is spreading rapidly. In addition to detection of RHDV2 in wild cottontail rabbits and jackrabbits, RHDV2 has been confirmed in domestic rabbits on 50 premises, including a detection in a feral domestic rabbit. Please make sure to vaccinate your rabbits every year. For more information, please visit our website at: https://sandiegorabbits.org/education/rhdv
