McMuffin's Story

McMuffin is a very special rabbit that has defied all of our expectations. She was born with megacolon, an inherited condition that causes the nerve endings in a rabbit's intestinal tract not to function properly. After spending many months on site so that we could closely monitor her health, she proved to us that she can handle anything life throws her way. Medically stable and now thriving in foster care, she's finally ready to find her forever home.
McMuffin loves her fresh greens-she's been eagerly trying all sorts of herbs and lettuces from the farmers market-and she eats her hay well. She's adjusted beautifully to home life, and every week she shows more of her sweet, curious personality.
McMuffin will do best with an adopter who is ready to learn how to give her daily oral medication, which she happily licks up and finds delicious! In return, she'll reward you with the joy of watching her continue to blossom, build trust with you, and finally live her life to the fullest in a loving home. She's a special rabbit looking for a special person. Could it be you?
McMuffin is spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated against RHDV2 (vaccine needs to be administered annually). House Rabbit Society recommends all rabbits see a rabbit-savvy veterinarian once a year.
Submit an adoption application for McMuffin at houserabbit.org. House Rabbit Society is located in Richmond, California, just north of San Francisco. Questions? Email foster@houserabbit.org and we'll be happy to talk more with you!
